From its foundation in the mid-1960s, the Italian Association to promoting Cancer Research – AIPRC (later AIRC), is among the Centro’s clients. Indeed, Pirelli was one of the Association’s first supporters, also contributing through the free support offered by its own advertising agency. Designers like Gerhard Forster and François Robert have come to grips with the most feared word of the 20th Century, creating the logo featuring the silhouette of a microscope that is most familiar today.
